Favoured by the famous and a little off the beaten track, the award winning Cottage features in Rick Steins 'Seafood Lovers Guide' as the best fish & chips in Blackpool. Built in 1856 for use as a farm the Cottage was converted to a fish and chip shop in 1920 and has become famous for its quality fresh fish & delicious home cut chips. Since taking over in September 2007 new owners Jason and Liz have raised the bar even higher, recently achieving a 5 star rating from Seafish to add to their many awards and achievements.
In September 2009 when the witty Alan Carr visited his “Las Vegas of the North” to flick the switch on for the start of the illuminations he hosted an ‘after show’ party and needed a fix of his favourite food… Fish & Chips! Cottage owners, Jason & Liz were honoured to be asked to supply the fish and chips to Alan and his 500 guests at the Tower Ballroom including The Lord Mayor of Blackpool, Ricky Hatton, Kate Thornton, Laurence Llewellyn Bowen, Tony Christie and the pop group JLS amongst others. Having been cooked in the newly installed Florigo frying range to the fresh haddock and chips were delivered by hand with a police escort to the ballroom.
